Default How to copy e-mails to a CD?

I will be installing Windows 2000 soon. But, my father does not want to lose his e-mails. He uses Microsoft Outlook. Is there any way to copy the Inbox to a CD?

In Outlook, go to File...then select Archive...Make sure you name the file so you can recognize it and save it somewhere you'll be able to find. Outlook will then compress everything into a file ( much like a .zip ), and you can then burn that file onto a CD...

Once the new OS is installed and you have loaded Outlook, just copy the file to your HD. Go back to File....select Archive....and point it to the file you copied...

Sounds like you're using Outlook Express then. Pelly's instructions were for Outlook not Outlook Express. They're two different applications. Outlook Express comes free and can be bundled with an IE setup. Outlook can be purchased separately or with various combinations of MS Office.

In order to backup Outlook Express emails, see these two previous posts.
