Default Upgrading on Mdk can't load nvidia.o

I decided to upgrade my drivers for my TNT2 Vanta card because I was having crappy looking video on this machine. It appeared that the timings were off.

I downloaded the NVIDIA-Linux*.run script and executed it. It did the wonderful task of uninstalling my old working but imperfect drivers, and then failed when attempting to load nvidia.o.

It is complaining about the kernel headers mismatching the running kernel, but I'm using the default 2.4.18-6mdkenterprise kernel that came with the original install. Now I'm stuck in text mode. Any idea what to do to get these latest drivers installed?

Thanks, Derek

VendorName "Unknown"
BoardName "Unknown"
Driver "nv"
# VideoRam 4096
# Clock lines
EndSection

Driver "nv"

"nv" should be replaced with "nvidia"
