I just placed an order on the Evga gtx 260 superclocked with 216 shader cores and I was searching around for recommended psu specs.
I found they require 36 amp. This is for the whole system right? If so I should be good with the 600w psu I have installed (link) It's dual rail both 12v's listed at 20a, but since that's peak I think the real world performance is closer to a total of 36a and not 40a. The psu does have two 6pin Pci-e connectors. |

I would Think it would be ok,but the reviews I seen on it don't look so good since it just puts out only 31amps on the 12v rails combined. You can get a Silverstone OP 750 watt or a Corsair 750watt for $119 and it puts out 60amps on the 12v rail.I ran my Silverstone OP650watt with one GTX 280 and had no problems.

Thanks John, I'm out looking for reviews too but can't find any solid info. The one you found there is the older version with weaker 12v rails (16a/15a) and a bit different in cables too. They do look the same and have same name too so I think they did a quite switch to better work with new hardware.
I did find a guy who claimed he ran two 8800gts in sli with a core duo E6850 on the psu with 2x 20a 12v rails for a while |

If it will run two 8800GTS's then it should run a GTX 260 (216) I would think.

I would think so too, but any sign of bad performance and Ill get a better psu for sure, I found the Corsair you recommended and it was pretty reasonable price as well.

Do you guys think my Hx620 is good enough for a GTX260 216 SLI setup?

God, I orderd a 260 the other day and didn't even think about my PSU being good enough. I better not have to wait even longer to purchase a PSU for it! If I do need one, Best Buy better have one.

I have a friend that runs his on a POS, old as dirt 450w PSU, unless you really have some pile of crap you should be ok.

I think it's a 500w... I'm more worried about having 2 6-pin connectors.
