Default Decoding h264 using ffmpeg + VDPAU -> Test file

Dear Friends,

I am from Kdenlive video editor project.

We are looking for a patch to decode AVCHD using ffmpeg:
http://www.kdenlive.org/kdenlive-nvi...u-ffmpeg-patch

Are you aware of such a patch?

Kind regards,
Jean-Michel

Out of interest, here is a typical AVCHD file from a camcorder.
Can you display and decode in real-time, I would love to hear feedback:

hi

It appeared to be fine for me, however, I am no expert
in the detection of any imperfections in playback, you should
also look yourself.

the command line i used was:
> mplayer -fps 50 -vo vdpau -vc ffh264vdpau ~/avchd-test-1.mts

cya!

Thanks. We will be testing the patch with great pleasure.
If it really works, this solves Kdenlive AVCHD decoding issues.
I am currently setting up a station for testing.

Exciting...

Done! Only the latest beta compiled fine. Plays fine, 20% of computing power or less.
File seems deinterlaced (x2 speed). Is there interlaced playing?

In the beginning of playing, may be slow or fast, and then okay.
This may be a problem in video editing.

By the way, is it possible to use the patch and build ffmpeg?
This would be for testing kdenlive.

The current MPlayer patches don't support any de-interlacing. Instead, each pair of interlace fields is presented as a frame. This could cause incorrect presentation speeds depending on how MPlayer works out timestamps etc.

You should be able to apply the ffmpeg patches and then use libavcode in another application just fine. That is what MythTV has done, for example.
