Hi all,
I need some help, I have no idea about the origin of this artifacts. I have test every posible configuration file. Look this screencapture: ![]() This pattern appear over ALL application that use OPENGL. On Xorg or Xgl and is visible on areas with gradients (the decoration window bye example). If I used Xorg this artifacts appear over flash elements. If I set Xgl-Compiz the flash elements are show fine but the artifacts show over decorations window and shadows ... If I go to KDE4 appears for everywhere Any suggestion are wellcome..... Thank you very much.... The system is: Opensuse 10.3 Nvidia 8600 GT PCI-E with dualhead and two monitors connected Kernel 2.6.22.19-0.1-default Driver NVIDIA-Linux-x86-100.14.06 (I have testing a lot of combination of kernels-drivers nvidia with the same result, ... the last version drivers not solved this problem.) this looks like some memory problem to me
I experienced similar "artifacts" / "corruption" when using my voodoo2 and the memory got too warm (or was it my TNT2m64 ?) how warm is your card getting ? any chance to measure it's (memory) temperature or anything near it ?

Update the driver
..there's no point in reporting bugs of outdated drivers without trying out the newest driver. |

Hi,
LostinSpacetime, I have testing the last 7 versions drivers. (last beta included) and the 2 lasts versions of kernel. The problem appear in all combinations, in Xorg and Xgl, with default configurations and customs. KernelOftruth, the core temperature in the card is 45C, I think it is normal, ( in this room is too much cold ![]() I dont sure, but I discard the hardware error because the problem is ONLY with the transparencies, alpha channel. |
