Default 180.11/16 display corruption, "moving" lines with allowflipping=1

hi,

i have some strange lines and rectangles which are appearing mostly when switching windows and seem to be around areas which get updated. Sometimes moving the Mouse also makes those artifacts "run away" from the mouse.
Its hard to make a screenshot, cause on repaint the lines often go away, just to show up somewher else later...

[edit]

found out that allowflipping=0 removed these artifacts. what do i miss without flipping?
