Default internet explorer help

in my internet explorer/tools/internet options/general tab..it says "days to keep pages in history"...everytime i open this and look in here it is always set at "5 day's", so i change it to either 0 or 1 and click apply and ok and close the window. but it seems the next day i open it again it has been set back to "5" again so i change it again and again but it will not stay set at 0 or 1 days.
my question is does anyone know how to correct this so it can stay set at zero or 1?
