Wow. Looks kinda like you cranked if you crank up DV in the nVidia control panel. I like.

Calibrating means you run through a series of test patterns to set the color and contrast properly. I used the Aliens DVD to do mine.
Power consumption is probably the worse of the 3 technologies as is the heat it gives off. My set can get pretty warm when on for awhile. |

A professional calibration will adjust greyscale as well just not what is in the user menu.
