OpenSuse 11.1 + KDE4 + nvidia = no x server
I recently upgraded from OpenSuse 10.3 to 11.1
Unfortuantely after installing the nvidia binary driver the system doesn't boot into kdm anymore.
I found folowing errors in /var/log:
Dec 23 17:03:15 yoda kdm_config: Multiple occurrences of key 'UseTheme' in section [X-*-Greeter] of /usr/share/kde4/config/kdm/kdmrc
Dec 23 17:03:15 yoda kdm: X server "-accel" cannot be executed
Dec 23 17:03:15 yoda kdm: X server for display :0 cannot be started, session disabled
Dec 23 17:03:17 yoda kernel: NVRM: loading NVIDIA UNIX x86_64 Kernel Module 177.82 Tue Nov 4 16:50:05 PST 2008
Xorg.0.log (or any other) doesn't seem to report any error(s).
I also removed the "-accel" options from DISPLAYMANAGER_XGL_OPTS in /etc/sysconfig and did an init again.
The difference is that then kdm complains about the '-br' option that cannot be executed.
Strangely enough, when I do a startx from the CLI x starts fine and launches kde3 (instead of kde4, last known default I guess...)
Does anybody have an idea on how to fix kdm (kde4) on OpenSuse 11.1 ?
