Is there a way to force vsync with 177.80
I use ubuntu intrepid and the latest it comes with is 177.80. My opengl games do not have vsync working (even though enabled in the game) and I get a lot of annoying tearing.
In 173, I do get vsync but one of my games seg faults so wanted to stick with 177.
I have vsync enabled in all the games, in the nvidia settings tool and tried using the export __GL_SYNC_TO_VBLANK=1 but it didn't work.
Strangely, glxgears has vsync enabled and stays at a solid 60 fps(my lcd's refreshrate)
As a test I tried the sync to vblank option as 0 and ran glx gears but it's still synced.
So is there a way to force vsync with this driver or is it just broken? And why does glxgears have vsync working? Also I disabled compiz in case that was causing any issues.

Re: Is there a way to force vsync with 177.80
I've the same problem, with 180.xx and 177.80 official on Ubuntu 8.10.
World of Warcraft on Wine and SMplayer/VLC/Mplayer have tearing problems with Compiz on Gnome enabled (effects).
glxgears 302 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.268 FPS 300 frames in 5.0 seconds = 59.958 FPS 300 frames in 5.0 seconds = 59.957 FPS
