Default 8600gt fan quit!

Ahhhh,

This morning the video went out on my system, and I found that the cooling fan quit running on my 8600gt card. Actually the system won't even boot with this card in it now.

Do you guys think the card is fried, or does it have some sort or circuitry to not allow the card to work with no fan? I'm hoping that is the case because I don't really want to buy a new card.

I think the card died. Nvidia GPUs and especially the Geforce8 ones are very sensitive to heat. If the cooling in the case isn't good (no good inlet fan and outlet fan) they can quickly die due to heat.

Yeah, it's completely dead as far as I can tell.

Luckily mine is an XFX card with a lifetime warranty, so I have put in a ticket to RMA the card.
