The way prices are it may be better to just grab a regular GTX 280 and OC it. The only way I'd go for the 285 would be if they have beastly overclocking. Right now most GTX 280s have zero problems with doing 648 on the core. Some break 700.

i got the BFG...read it overclocks well..and its also 6 bucks cheaper LOL , should i keep the 8800gt for physx only? i mean..doesnt the 295 already ahve physx support? lol would tht make a hell of a diff?

Again we dont really have enough software to really test things out other than a few tech demos. I have not tried the 8600GTS along side the GTX295 because I dont feel the benefit relative to the ordeal I had using the 8600GTS both from a power consumption stand point, and the BSOD i witnessed.

I think the GTX 285 comes out on the 15th. I'm looking to get one, BFG or EVGA. If anyone finds one, please post!!
I'm looking for a single card solution, less power, faster than 280, etc....the 285 is it. |
