The way prices are it may be better to just grab a regular GTX 280 and OC it. The only way I'd go for the 285 would be if they have beastly overclocking. Right now most GTX 280s have zero problems with doing 648 on the core. Some break 700.

Yes, my 280's run just fine at 716/1551/1251 but that might be cake for a 55nm. Reduce the amount of power I am using and heat. Maybe even higher clocks

Good choice. Yes the GTX295 does have Physx support the 10,000 dollar ? is do the dedicated cards really make a real world difference right now vs say what you get out of the single better cards like a gtx285/295 etc.

I personally used an 8600GTS I had lying around with my prior card a GTX280, and in synthetic becnhes like Vantage it scored worse with the use of a dedicated card in this case an 8600gts vs the stand alone GTX280.

Again we dont really have enough software to really test things out other than a few tech demos.

I have not tried the 8600GTS along side the GTX295 because I dont feel the benefit relative to the ordeal I had using the 8600GTS both from a power consumption stand point, and the BSOD i witnessed.

I think the GTX 285 comes out on the 15th. I'm looking to get one, BFG or EVGA. If anyone finds one, please post!!

I'm looking for a single card solution, less power, faster than 280, etc....the 285 is it.
