its roughly twice as fast as an 8800 gtx, but you will also experience microstuttering. |

This is good to hear. I've still got a 9800gx2 and I really want to bail on it. I'm torn between the 285 and 295. I guess I have to see some benchs comparing the two. Also, I don't want to get stuck with the stutters again. Any advice?

microstuttering will likely always be an issue as long as afr is used.

I have recently gotten back in to the flight sim IL2:1946, and unless I totally turn off SLI on my 9800gx2 it stutters (even in SLR mode, and even telling the settings to use one GPU). You need to put it in total 1 GPU mode or dual display mode depending on the drivers.
I just want to make sure if I go with the 295 I'm not right back in the same boat. I am leaning towards the 285 because I think the 9800gx2 has me spooked now about SLI on one card and to some extent all SLI configs.
