no, it's not. I've been driven nuts by the 7950GX2 and 9800GX2 from Micro stutter. It exists and for those sensitive to it, it ruins any gaming experience.

Doesn't this microstutter happen on all SLI setups if the framerate gets to be too low? I guess what I mean is wouldn't a 295 GTX and 2 260 GTXs in SLI have the same issue?

its more likely to happen at lower fps, but can occur at any fps. and for those who notice it, it does indeed ruin any benefits multi gpu brings.

You're basing your decision on a guy who just registered on the forum this month and has one post?

EVERYONE who uses multi gpu has microstutter, theres no way around it. some people just dont notice it. its no different than the 30 v 60 fps argument. some people just cant tell the diff between 30 and 60 fps. does that mean the difference isnt there? no.

![]() Yes you're right, I registered today, just to reply to this thread. I don't want people making the same mistake I did and there seem to be some misleading posts claiming microstutter isn't a problem. I had never even heard of microstutter before until I tried researching the problems I was experiencing. I have a Core i7 system that is smoking fast and the dual gtx 260s (core 216s) in SLI were a sweet compliment to my rig...At least it benchmarked awesome. Unfortunately, the microstutter ruined my "very High" gaming experience in Crysis (and was noticeable in Far Cry 2 & Call of Duty as well) I ended up disabling SLI during most of my gaming. So I sold one of the cards and I still enjoy a sweet rig that games phenominal, it just won't score 25,000 in 3DMark06 anymore. |

Hell_Of_Doom........the only person I give no credit too on NvNews.
Thinking about getting a 295 in the near future, but I have a question about SLI for the NvNews community... Does SLI support D3D Triple Buffing? I think SLI doesn't, but if SLI does support triple buffing I'll be more likely to get a 295.

You have an agenda against multi-GPU setups, you've made it quite obvious in most of your posts, in fact, that's all I've read from you. Why can't you just accept the fact that it's not as bad as it used to be years ago when multi-GPU setups were just starting out? It has advanced to the point where 99% of people don't notice it. Of course you just happen to be in the remaining 1% and seem to get-off on telling everyone else how inferior their eyes are compared to yours. ![]() |
