you can buy slot-loading blu-ray OEM drives. they don't make any 5.25 inch drives but there are few laptop models.

by the look of the BFG syste, I would say those are laptop drives in there.

Meh, no thanks. I used to have a Pioneer slot-loading DVD ROM drive--best DVD drive I ever had.

/checks eBay to see if there are any...

Pioneer as far as i know doesn't make slot-loading drives anymore.

Panasonic and some Sony drives are slot-loading

As standard 5.25" drives? I see a ton of notebook ones.

No matter, I just picked up a Pioneer for $10 from the eBay flea market. If it doesn't work, I'm not out too much.
