To be fair to you yes your mostly gamers so it's impposible ATM to go pure 64bit, I think Windows users will have to wait a quiet a few years yet for pure 64bit because of your legacy junk.

Microsoft needs to switch to 64-bit as well as end support for any 32-bit O/S. One people realize that 32bit (Xp, vista) is not being supported, they will be forced to switch.

Windows doesn't have a 64bit flash plugin yet, Adobe gave Linux users the alpha to test but all three platforms will get it on final release.

The problem on the Windows front for 64 bit applications is software companies being lazy. In Linux its actually been a viable option to switch to 64 bit since the A64 was released simply because all that you need to do is recompile basically to have support for 64bit. Actually, the biggest factor in holding off switching to 64bit in Linux was Adobe refusing to support it and having to install a **** load of 32bit dependencies just to have flash player working.

yes, not wanting to invest millions of dollars in a program that offers little benefit is just being "lazy".

Yeah, as the poster above me stated, this post is a joke. Why do you think EVERY open source application is available for both x86/x86_64? I'm not educated about the issue in Windows, but in Linux while dealing with open source applications, 64bit compatibility is a recompile away.

Bingo! these little boys that dont work in the industry have not a clue. If it was as easy as a recompile, every company would be doing it right now. These idiots dont realize that many thousands of hours of testing and debugging and support need to be added to software that would see very limit return if any.
If you write software for win32 you dont have to write it for win64 but if you write it for win64 you have to write it for win32 thus adding testing time and cost. These idiots would then be the first to jump up and say "why is X software late"!!" its just a recompile?" " i want it now" " such and such company sucks" blah blah blah
