To rule out any power issues I gave the video card a dedicated power supply with 34A on the 12V rail. It still squeals. On another forum I visit some guy got the XFX 285 as well. His does not squeal at all. Guess I'll be returning this one to Newegg for a replacement to see if I can get a non-squealer.

The squealing is fine, no need to return your card. My eVGA will do it also when loading up some benchmarks. I don't hear it all the time and I keep my PC room very quiet, but it does exist and it's not going to hurt anything.

The squealing on mine is quite loud and it does it all the time when it's rendering. I've had a squealer in the past but it wasn't anywhere close to this one. I really can't live with it especially when I know that other people's 285's aren't squealing. I'm still returning it and hope to get one that doesn't squeal or one that's not nearly as annoying.

Are there people who compared Quad CF and QuadSLi?
I know there are some comparisons in reviews, but they contain the same old low selection of games. How performs QuadSLI in Crysis ingame DX10 very high 1920x1200 with 4x AA 16AF max IQ? Does it have dips to 20 or is it steady at 50-60fps? Should 896 mb vidram be enough for this game?

GTX 285 SSC Goodness!

Looks like I am going to hold off till the next Gen Cards come out.... my 650W PS is the minimum for a GTX285... so I might as well wait till I build a new PC in a few months

Well I have come back to Nvidia and replaced my 4870 512 after 6 months with a BFG GTX 285 OC. From what I have played with so far it does seem better and much more stable than the ATI. I think its more to do with the drivers imo, I kept having problems with games crashing att random points and Vista telling me that it was a ATI driver issues.Thats not to say I did not like the ATI but i am happier now.
