Default 8400GS, xorg.conf for video playback, component tv-out?

Nvidia 8400 GS
Athlon64 64 X2 dual core 4000+
Nvidia 177.82-0 (glx, kernel-source, modalias)
Mythbuntu 8.10
DTV from an HDHomerun

X11 is currently configured with screen0 (monitor 1280 x 1024) and screen1 (TV-out, component at 640x480, mythfrontend runs here). When Mythtv plays TV, either HD or SD, the CPU usage for Xorg goes over 90% and mythfrontend up to 15-30%. While the playback is ok, this seems to trigger other issues, for instance lirc having problems with focus, so that remote control keys are not delivered, or are delivered slowly. Discussed here:

I'm tired of fighting with this system, and just want it to work as a DVR. My current xorg.conf is below. What should it be to get rid of these performance problems? If absolutely necessary it can have only screen0 set to TV-OUT, and I will use ssh to control the system.

Thanks.
