Default 180.25 / 9800M GTX = Almost!

Ok so 180.22 didnt detect my device and now 180.25 does.. Powermizer now shows all of my power(clock) modes. However it refuses to go above level 1

LEVEL|GPU|MEM
0|200|100
1|275|301
2|383|301
3|500|799

Another thing i noticed is that powersource is marked as battery which it should be AC_ADAPTER

Sooo CLOSE!

Regarding PowerMizer alone, it's normal behavior as it is not supposed to take the card to higher levels on battery.

Speaking of the power source issue, I have no idea. Maybe you can override it this way.

However, 180.25 still doesn't allow levels 2 and 3 in my case (although I've got 8800M GTX and no problems with AC detection, so it might be a different bug).

Yeah for some reason /proc/acpi/ac_adapter has nothing in it.. but the /proc/acpi/battery has everything.. its really weird...

I think its a ACPI problem with my bios, but there arent any updates.

There really just needs to be an option to disable powermizer all together.

Devs please add this capability...

In the device section of xorg.conf this works for me.

Code:
Option "RegistryDwords" "PowerMizerEnable=0x1; PerfLevelSrc=0x2222; PowerMizerDefault=0x3; PowerMizerDefaultAC=0x1"
Of course my acpi detects and correctly set AC and battery options.

For me that disables powermiser while plugged in, but allows it to work while on battery power.

Ok i have modified my DSDT table to make ac_adapter think its always on-line.

However my GPU still refuses to go to level 3.. The highest it will go is level 1.

Devs?
