Unhappy No luck with TV out. How to force S-video??

Hello

I've been trying to get my TV hooked up with no avail. The problem is that my TV doesn't have any inputs besides cable, so I have to go through an RF modulator. I'm pretty sure that's why it isn't being detected.

I've got a geforce 8800 gts, with two monitors. Using Ubuntu 8.10.

I've spent the past couple of days searching forums and studying the driver README but I really haven't gotten anywhere. I also tried to get this working with windows on the same machine.

I've attached the log file... any pointers or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Alex

ps. I'm very new to Linux... go easy on me

You cannot have TV out when you already have two monitors attached.
The Nvidia cards only support 2 outputs at a time.
So you can have two monitors or one monitor and a TV.

I know that you can't have all 3 at once. But even if I only have one monitor plugged in, that still doesn't solve the problem of the card not being able to detect the TV......

When you post a bugreport, you should generate it in a situation where your problem is occurring.

I think I was pretty clear in writing twice that there is a problem, and I would appreciate it if instead of telling me what I should be doing (yes, I did read the guidelines before I made the original post), you could suggest something that I can try.

You posted a bugreport that was taken in a setup that you already knew it cannot work.
(two monitors connected and then try to connect a TV)

I studied your bugreport and determined that there were two monitors connected and that this means your TV is not going to work.
So, I replied to you that this is the cause and you claim you already knew that.
So, you wasted my time analyzing your report. You should have posted a report that was made while there was a problem.

Ok, sorry for wasting your time. Didn't mean to sound aggressive in last post.... was having a rough day.

If you're still willing to help, I'll disconnect the second monitor and try to get it running again. Then post another bug report.

Thanks

alex
