Default nvidia 177.80 crashes linux

Hi,

Nvidia graphics driver crashes (as in hangs - totally in-responsive - does not reboot - needs a reset).

I have attached a alternative Xorg log to the one included in the bug-report, because it crashes it is difficult to get to the exact spot where it crashes, and have it written to disk.

The only driver which currently works for me is 96.43.09 - which supposedly does not support my gpu. I have tried the 180.xx driver with the same result :-(

The reason for the edid forcing is that the asus motherboard, follows the nv reference design - so it is missing the pull-up resistance on one of the dvi pins.

This is on Fedora 8 and 9. The hw is GeForce 6150 embedded gpu, on asus m2npv-vm motherboard.

Regards,
Kim
