Exclamation Asus Crosshair2 & NV280GTX driver problems

I'm not very good with Linux in general. I have installed several times Fedora 9 +10 sometimes I've used livna.org drivers for nvidia but also I managed to compile my kernel with the drivers from the site using the binutils.

The problem is that on my new computer that I built I've been trying several times to install nvidia drivers but still I couldn't make it work. I tried again with livna.org and I also tried to compile it but still X didn't start.
My mobo is Asus Crosshair 2 that has the hybrid sli support.
When I change the the driver in the Xorg.conf file to vesa X starts but with nvidia nothing..
Is there anything I'm forgetting to do?
