Wonder where the Age of Empires rights are, I guess Microsoft kept them? But then again, maybe not the best to do a AoE4 and instead start fresh with new ideas and another franchise. Hope they succeed.

Yeah, I would rather they focus on a new IP... something different and cool, like Rise of Legends, but better.

I liked Rise of Legends, but it wasn't a big success. I think many was put off by the steampunk/fantasy theme.

But as you say, a new IP with great gameplay would be nice indeed. It will probably be ways off until the studio can release their first game with current development times. Seeing the history of people involved a RTS will probably be the first game, even though Ensemble had other projects in the planning stages when they where given the pink slip.
