I've heard that the latest Mandrake 9.2 beta includes an option to install a 2.6 test kernel so I was wondering if it supports installing onto a reiser4 partition? If not, are there any Linux distros out there yet that do support this filesystem as I saw some benchmarks recently and it would seem to be the fastest Linux filesystem there is.
I was also surprised to see that ext3 is actually faster at most operations than XFS- which came as a surprise. Does XFS have any advantages over ext3 to the normal user? |

I think you can compile in the kernel support for
reiser4 so you can use reiserfs in any distro ( after installing reiser tools and formating the partition)

We haven't added ReiserFS4 support to the 2.6-test kernel in MDK 9.2 ... yet ... The fastest way for you now it to grab the patches from namesys.com and patch the 2.6 kernel yourself... |
