Nice results lee, you getting similar temps as i am getting at 3.6Ghz only your Voltage regulator is a little warmer.

So what's a good temp/voltage range for the i7 920?

If i see my cores go above 90c in stress testing then i turn the test off and go back to the drawing board...This for me has been an issue with my 4.0Ghz profile as i cannot for the life of me keep the cores below 90c
Under stress testing, imo anything below 85c on the cores is fine. keep your eye on the VREG as this too needs to be below 85c. If you find the vreg does get too hot try lowering the PWM. Heres my results after 10mins of prime small fft's at 3.6Ghz, still working on the 4.0Ghz profile (i think a HSf reseat might be in order). ![]() ![]() |

I think around 70 - 75 max under load is good, Intel's max vcore is 1.35... someone correct me if I'm wrong.
This is 100% stable, still working on the 4GHz+ ![]()

The easiest way to get 4.0Ghz out of the 920 is to run 191Vtt x 19 with turbo enabled. You will need way less voltage than trying to run 200Vtt x 20. I can run 191x19 primestable at 1.375 volts. I need 1.49 volts for 200x20, very big difference.
