It does overclock all cores on my Gigabyte. Initially it was only one on the Asus boards, but now its all cores.

I fail to see any reason to run turbo mode if the multiplier is less than 20x

Correct me if im wrong but doesnt turbo mode add 1 to the multiplier....

so in reality 19x190 with turbo is the same as 20x190 without turbo?

For 4.0Ghz with a 190 QPI you need to have a 20x multiplier with turbo enabled. A 200 QPI is more ram specific and would give 1600Mhz on a 2/8 ratio @4.0Ghz

No, running turbo on a 19x multi will result in a 21x multi. Turbo takes it to 21.

Ram is running at 1568mhz. There is no difference between that and 1600mhz.

Yes indeed you are correct, but i still dont see the point in having to lower the multiplier to 19x if your are going to use turbo.

Also what are the tmps like with that overclock muppet ?

Did any of you use a washer or similar under the TRUE mounting bracket to secure it more?....mine seems a little on the loose side and there is movement with very little pressure.

So Turbo should be disabled? What Turbo does anyway?

Because it's not the 20x multi that is the issue, but the 200Vtt that's the problem. you can probably run 20x191 with turbo enabled. I just haven't tried that.

I'm interested to see the difference between the old stepping and the new D0....with HT on of course.

The biggest question is "what sort of cooling are you using" It's just that anything over 4.2 needs better than air to cool it for long periods.

Is thermal paste application on those i7's the same as on the core2 quads? I had the best luck with a thin line running north/south across the heat spreader on my q6600.
