The files in the .zip archive are bug report files:
nvidia-bug-report.log: Without startx -- -logverbose 6 nvidia-bug-report.log2: With startx -- -logverbose 6, though X didn't start properly This problem occurs at every login, after the graphical login screen, which works fine. The entire screen is corrupted, though it's possible to tell that the desktop is "there" underneath the corruption. I can recognize the animation for NetworkManager signing on to my home network, though it's spread across the whole screen. The problem is fixed if I use Ctrl-Alt-F1 to swap to a textmode terminal, then Ctrl-Alt-F7 to swap back to X. Sometimes I just have to press Ctrl-Alt-F1...the text terminal never even shows up, but the X window fixes itself. The problem also comes up if I play with my screensaver settings. Each time I choose a new screensaver to preview, or exit the screensaver application, I get the same corruption again, and I can fix it in the same way. I've had it for the last few driver releases. I'm using 180.22 now. Thanks in advance for any advice. Last edited by Tinyboss; 03-10-09 at 07:57 AM. |

Bumping this up in case anyone has seen something like it, or knows anything to try.
I've been through releases 180.29 and 180.35 since posting this, with the same bug. |

This bug is finally gone (for me) in the 180.37 release!
