I tried this game but it didnt captivate me. It was lacking in action to make it worth playing. I like the idea of sims but the idea of flying around for pseudo realism (lets face it, if you were stuck in a plane in real life you would be screwed).

Did you try any of the missions? while not thrilling like a combat sim they atleast give ppl who dont sim something to do in the FSX world

For myself i fly FSX as a chillout sim if im looking for action then i have many other sims and games to get my blood pumping but for chilling out theres nothing like taking up a glider with headtracking into the clouds over Tasmainia and letting the VR world and all my stress float by......

Free Alphasim Sikorsky S-55 FSX Native aswell Not a bad little chopper good freeware quality
VC is a bit basic but she flys quite well

The Howard Hughes H-1 Racer is now down to $20 at Aerosoft(16EUR). Still one of the best VC's around. It's fun to see how fast you can make it go without blowing the engine. Lots of variables to balance in achieving that.

@ Gizmo, thanks for the tips!

Man i love that VC but i just hate the look of the plane i never did pick it up but at $20 i think i might drop for it just for the VC alone

Chance of some more devs tools for FSX ? go say yes plz

http://msmvps.com/blogs/thenakedmvp/...simulator.aspx

i can only imaine what dev's could do with more inhouse tools sets! just think of the FSX engine with GPU based autogen, cloud shadows (the thing i love the most about X-plane) Crepuscular rays and a rolling vertex waved ocean! all the things they promised with DX10 but never delivered i think with tools closer to the source all that could be added to FSX or maybe im only dreaming hehe

Ok my new I7 system is up and running.
Got it running at 4GHZ.

FSX installed with all 4 orbx AU addons, plus a few.

Time for some screenshots

How do I get airport traffic in the orbx AU products ? I've downloaded Melbourne Intl and have my airport traffic set at 25% in FSX config but still don't see much in there ?

Thanks for the tip on FSWC, I'm currently in the process of trying it out.

Here is some more. This time CLS DC10, a very fun plane to fly. Had to take the passengers from Redcliff to Brisbane, AU GOLD.

@slaWter I like your clouds, what clouds are these in REX? I don't seem to get the right clouds and many of them are too transparent when you aproach them. Great shots!

resized 1920x1200, sharpened, the sunlight is photoshoped just for fun on my wife's Notebook, I'm reformating (again! ) my main rig, so please excuse, no new (real!) FSX screens.

Wow awesome shots from everybody!

If you have some cash to burn feast your eye on this:

http://www.screenshotartist.co.uk/iris_vulcan.htm

Those are NickC's shots of the new IRIS Vulcan. IRIS actually bought the model from Milviz, like RealFlight did with their Hellcat, which is a good thing as MilViz has been modeling for a long time and makes some of the best there are.

http://www.irissimulations.com/

http://www.milviz.com/

The problem with that approach, I feel, is that you've got guys like RealFlight that think they can buy a nice model, throw the rest of the plane together, use the community as beta testers, and make a profit. I know not to buy from RealFlight again due to this approach, as the model is the only good thing the RealFlight Hellcat has going, but IRIS has been in the payware businesss a long time, so I trust their work on the apects other than the model.
