Default Everything got broke

I installed 180.37. It was working fine. I rebooted and nothing else works. I have an asus a8js with a geforce 7700.
I had different error messages before in Xorg.0.log. But since I saw a post that told me to do grub-intall (hd0). Some of these messages were solved.
The problem is my laptop screen only give white+different colors vertical bars since I turn on the laptop.
External monitor when connected give a looooot of garbage. like 50% of the console squares are with random chars.

So when I have xorg.conf(that have always worked and I tried several) now I have this :
Code:

Please help me. This is the only computer I have and I really need it. This white screen thing happened before(I think I tried 180 while in beta) but X always worked (I had no console no usplash no nothing until X).
I tried two version of BIOS and flashed it multiple times.

According to logs you posted you use Ubuntu. Did you tried Nvidia packages from distribution? If you installed driver 180.37 you do not use it. See the logs you posted - everywhere is
Code:
(II) NVIDIA GLX Module 177.82 Tue Nov 4 14:03:48 PST 2008
(II) NVIDIA dlloader X Driver 177.82 Tue Nov 4 13:42:45 PST 2008
You still use driver version 177.82. If you installed Nvidia driver 180.37 from binaries on Nvidia driver page now you have mixed 2 versions which may be the reason of breakage. The binary package from Nvidia installer has --uninstall parameter. Use it to remove 180.37 driver. Then restore Nvidia driver from Ubuntu packages. Finally if everything goes back to normal here is info how to install Nvidia driver on Ubuntu:

I removed 177,82 from ubuntu and manually installed 180,37 when all of this happened I removed them with nvidia-uninstall, and re-installed 177.82. The module loads fine(saw the logs in dmesg etc).

Before grub-install the messages were worst. I can`t post them anymore . And don`t forget before X the screen is white with vertical bars.

Thank for all the help

Do you guys think the card is burned?
I did something else now, at hardwre level.
I took out the connector to my laptop screen panel. And the external monitor can see the ASUS logo and go to the bios etc etc but still with a lot of garbage(less than before) . When I reconect the laptop panel (monitor) , its again impossible to see the bios menu.

Could it be a graphics card RAM problem?

I also took the graphics card out and re-plugged, same thing as always.

Could it be that the card is fried or could it be the laptop connectors? Because the VGA+DVI connectors aren t physically attached to the graphics card itself(kinda MXM format).

Thank you
