When I log on, Wicana server, the population is fine...this is silly hours US time as I am Hong Kong. There are always people looking for groups etc.

Anyway, have I mentioned, I love this game?

It looks good but I wasn't a big fan of the realm vs realm, I more enjoyed the PVE aspects of DAoC and WAR seems to have heavy emphasis on the RvR aspects.

I think you're right about the non-US focus in player base, jcossin. I'm in the UK, and when I log on in the evenings the population seems pretty healthy. It does have a feel common to many successful European RPGs like The Witcher and Gothic though: very macho and morally ambiguous.

I like the game, a lot! I have had a severe technical issue around lockups in Poitain that no one seems to have any ideas for though.

With no one to group with on my server, the group quests are meaningless and therefore I'm dropping the game and going back to LOTRO where there are tons of people to group up with. It's too bad as AOC had some really cool stuff and I like the combat a lot!

Are you sure you are chatting in the right window? OOC or Global chat window?

There are many people in Wicana server even in early US time asking for groups to do grouped quests such as Elites in Connal, Burning Sanctum, Cistern, Aztels.

Oh and by the way, I am so chuffed, was in a RAID on saturday (2nd time) and I got two Purple Barbarian armor drops for my Barb! Most of the time, I have had to buy blue gear!

I let my subscription lapse over the weekend, I'm done with the constant lockups and no one to help. I'm back to LOTRO!!!

I am sorry your experience has been less than stellar.

Fortunately for me, I have no such problems, no crashes or lockups. The only problem I get is when I try to play AoC in windowed mode with firefox running in the background. Otherwise, no problems at all in full screen mode! This is with my 295 GTX / CPU overclocked too!

The lighting seems to be more moody.....seems...all subjective at the moment.

The performance hit in DX 10 is a lot compared to DX 9. I had to turn off shadows to get fps the same levels as in DX 9 with shadows!
