Default Xinerama with OpenGL: Which cards are "similar" to a Geforce 8300 (C77)?

Hi Everyone.

I'm interested in getting OpenGL acceleration to work across multiple devices in Xinerama. I currently have an onboard Geforce 8300 (C77) and would like to purchase another card which will work together. The official docs say:-
"Using identical GPUs is recommended. Some combinations of non-identical, but similar, GPUs are supported."
The driver knows which chipsets are compatible, but is this listed anywhere? I have read that any Geforce 8 series should work together. I've also read that the Geforce 9 series is similar to the Geforce 8 series and may also work.

The two entry level cards I was looking at were the 8500GT and 9400GT (passive cooling). I realize these won't be doing any intense 3D, but would still like to get it to work.

Does anyone know which ones are compatible? Thanks.
