Does anyone know why DirectX, of all things, doesn't need separate 32bit and 64bit installation files? As an integral part of the OS it seems like it'd have to match the drivers and software being used for any of it to work.

I never really thought about it until now.

if you extract the installer you will notice that it contains both 32bit and 64bit code.
