I see what you're saying. I used DX11 as an example. Once again, I'm not trying to say 285 SLI or alone is crap. This thread was to inform, or a "by the way, check this out". Not to steer people in a certain direction. What card to upgrade to is entirely up to the consumer. T

Personally, I'm pleased to read that a single GTX285 is almost the equivalent of 8800GTX SLI. I'm building a new rig and going from almost the same pc specs as kemo (except for a single 8800GTS G92) to a core i7+x58 + GTX285 + 6GB DDR3. Some water cooling, a little overclocking and I hope to drive this one for 2 years as well.

Thats what I'm gonna do. Hold onto the 8800GTX SLI setup until games are running below 30fps.

Crysis is a hard game to choose your card from ,because you can have a tri GTX 285 set-up and it still is not much faster then the 8800GTX sli ,but when you start running other games the GTX 285 is more then twice as fast as a 8800GTX.

Dude, I hate to break it to ya, but my Q6600@3.0 and GTX260 Core216 bests your 800GTX SLI setup at your settings, you should have kept the GTX285, sold teh 8800GTXs, recouped some of your cash and gotten a cooller, less power using rig in return. Ohwell, your choice.

doesn't make much sense to sell my 8800s at this point. $650 for one (at launch) and another later on for $250. I could get $250 tops for both. One on ebay is selling for about $125. Show me Crysis bench results using the same settings I used 4xFSAA, No Vsync, and T-Buffering with Vsync On. I could never get my Q6600 stable at 3.6Ghz. 3Ghz stable and saw lower performance than my C2D 3.6Ghz.

In VistaU x64 running the 64bit run in DX10 mode with 4x AA and Vsync on res was 1680x1050 all settings were on high. Will have to reload the game in XP later to run DX9 for ya. But most everyone already knows, DX9 is a good deal faster than DX10 in crysis. min was 23 average was 33 and max was 45 with clock on GPU stated before and CPU at 2.4Ghz. Will run more at 3.0, 3.3 and 3.6.
