[BUG REPORT] nvidia-180 glx driver causes hang when glx used by application
Asus P5QL-E mobo.
Asus EN8400GS PCI-E
Currently 2GB RAM
Two SATA hard drives, one SATA DVD Writer
Hooked up to a Samsung HD TV.
Running mythbuntu 8.10 with current updates.
When an application that uses glx touches the glx driver, the machine locks up hard.
Unable to switch to the console, SysRequest sometimes works.
Attached is the nvidia bug report, which is one of the applications that causes a hang (appears to complete the report)
I am unable to run X with logverbose 6 because the machine hangs when gdm is stopped, though possibly I can start X with the nv driver first, then switch to the nvidia one (will that work ?).
Also tried using nvidia-settings, logging in remotely and running top to see what happens.
It starts ok, but when the "OpenGL/GLX information" item is selected, the hang occurs.
top shows nvidia-settings consuming 100% CPU.
