I was wondering if it might be possible to add a setting in the nvidia-settings application in a future release to allow the dynamic configuration of the Triple Buffering setting, without restarting X. The reason I would like to know this is because the Triple Buffering option gives a huge performance boost to GPU-limited games in fullscreen mode, but it causes tearing for windowed applications. I would like to be able to turn triple buffering on without restarting X when I play a fullscreen game, and then turn it off when the game quits.
