3. What is the difference between a CRT monitor and an LCD monitor in terms of signal and processing?

I've started talking about how CRT's use an analog signal and LCD's use a digital signal, but with regard to processing, what are they talking about? Google really isn't helping in this case.

Anyone got a good BS or real answer that sounds good?

Well most digital signals are nothing more then quantized analog signals. In terms of signal processing a CRT interprets the analog signal and processes the signal into values it uses to control the electron gun (location and intensity).

A LCD monitor decodes the signal and processes it figure out which pixel to turn on/off, what values it gets etc. per scan line.
