I have to agree... in fact while I loved Witcher, I didn't really enjoy the combat aspect of it that much and really longed to get back to another dialogue sequence rather than fight another monster.

My two 'main' TQ characters ... non hacked ... having made it through Legendary.

Ranger - Good for bosses with lots of kiting ability, a little rough around the edges for regular mobs in Legendary though as a huge group can really put a damper on.

Battlemage - Hard for most boss fights due to limited range abilities and the fact that many mobs have fire resistance. Excellent for fighting regular mobs, though... nothing like pulling a big group, dropping an eruption on the ground, and then going into stone skin while the lava burns the mobs all around you.

I would also suggest Dark Messiah if you havent played it. I love the physics in that game, and the story is pretty good too.
