I've installed the 185.19 driver without problems on my debian sid.
My kernel-version is 2.6.29-1.towo.2-sidux-amd64. But, if the computer boots up, a wrong version of nvidia.ko was load, but on my harddisk, there is only one nvidia.ko in /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/drivers/video. If i do an modprobe -r nvidia && modprobe nvidia, the modul was load right. Here are the optput of dmesg: Code:
NVRM: API mismatch: the client has the version 185.19, but NVRM: this kernel module has the version 185.13. Please NVRM: make sure that this kernel module and all NVIDIA driver NVRM: components have the same version. nvidia 0000:01:00.0: setting latency timer to 64 NVRM: loading NVIDIA UNIX x86_64 Kernel Module 185.19 Sat Apr 4 07:04:57 PST 2009 IRQ 16/nvidia: IRQF_DISABLED is not guaranteed on shared IRQs It's very strange and mysterious. ![]() Last edited by towo|; 04-09-09 at 01:50 AM. You probably have the old module in your initrd. Rebuild your initrd with the new module.
