Darn it, I was real excited for this game, and now it looks like a crappy korean cel shaded mmo or something that is trying to anime-ize mad max.

We'll see what happens though. This game really did need a gritty look, though.

Best part of the game was jumping and throwing stuff... if they had made the missions more varied and interesting... as in at all interesting... it could have been an amazing game.
Aren't you the person that was defending ACs extreme repetition? Sorry but having a goal to sit on a bench isn't as good as having a goal to take out a bunch of "goons"... sitting on a bench listening to a conversation just isn't fun for me.

You do that like...3 times in the whole game. It's probably like 2% of the game, and it feels a lot more unique than Crackdown.

And I never defended Assassin's Creed for being repetitive anyway, I just say I enjoyed it despite that, and that a lot of games are repetitive. Assassin's Creed was amazingly immersive, that was mostly why I liked it.

looks a bit like PoP shading which I quite liked in the end. Depends on how consistent it is and how strong it is.

Nope... it almost got immersive, then you went back to the stupid "present day" sections and it was just crap. The present day stuff had no point and the game would have been much better if it wasn't for that whole aspect.

I can kind of agree with that, but for me it made for a great story... I think the main reason they did that was to explain the lock-on and other crap being in the crusades era.

Anyway, agree to disagree... I loved AC and the early info on AC2 makes me think I will love it even more.

If it ends up looking like that then I like it better then the original art. Gives it more of a unique style and direction. I agree if they changed the direction of the art it was to seperate it from the crowd.

Another new pic:

A lot of people on that site seem impressed, but it looks like generic cell-shading to me, and not nearly as impressive as what we had seen before.

Beautiful! I love the art direction they're heading with this one. I was worried after seeing first few screenshots of Prince of Persia. I was happy how it turned out and it did look amazing.

NarcissistZero, you need to have your eyes checked generic cel-shading is something like you see in XIII. While XIII looked nice but rather generic looking.
