Hi,
I am using nvidia 180.11 on a MacBook Air 2,1 running ubuntu amd64. Everything is working fine, including the 2560x1600 external Dell screen. I am now trying to get the temperature down as I am not really using any 3D applications. I was trying with all kind of options for PowerMizer, but always get Code:
$ nvidia-settings -q GPUCurrentPerfLevel -t 2 Code:
Option "RegistryDwords" "PowerMizerEnable=0x1; PerfLevelSrc=0x2222; PowerMizerDefault=0x3; PowerMizerDefaultAC=0x3; PowerMizerLevel=0x3; PowerMizerLevelAC=0x3;" Cheers, Andres |

There are a number of reasons why the GPU might not be able to drop to the lowest performance level, including just needing enough memory bandwidth to display the screen. You could try running at a lower screen resolution (not that I'm promising that it will help).
