Exactly what in those pictures do you guys insist is so hard to do?!?! Aside from using quite a bit more high resolution textures then your average current gen game, the majority of what you see is due to an extremely talented map designer. Those pictures don't show any unusual amount of increase polygon detail, most of the increased details we see are due to better and/or higher resolution Parallax mapping.

this reminds me what 3dfx's chief scientist Gary Tarolli (Mr T Buffer) said once in a forum. it's not about the amount of polygons in a scene, but what you do with those pixels that make it more realistic. I complained many games filled the scene with too many crates.

No need to make it run at 1fps for a minuscule graphical improvement.

I think the scene in these screenshots probably runs a lot smoother than most would think as long as you don't bog it down with unnecessary levels of AA.

Ive had the DVD version of blade runner since it was released but have never gotten round to watching it. (yes thats ALOT of years lol )


Is the film still worth watching or has it dated to badly *cringes at the thought of "escape from new york"*

It's my favorite film of all time and is still amazing... and Escape From New York is still awesome as well.

The Blanerunner Blu-Ray is truly amazing, probably the best disc in my collection.
