Gamestop is selling it early. I read that it was like Warcraft 3 in some ways, so I picked it up. It is fricken sweet. |

It lends a lot from the WC3 mod DoTA. The big difference is that each class is more advanced and versatile, while there is fewer classes (well a lot more currently, but can't compare release version with a multiple upgraded DoTA). The maps in Demigod look a bit dull though, it's flat "chess" like boards. If it can stand on it's own we will see. Official release is 14/4.

This game is so freaking awesome. No weak ass campaign. It's like just skirmishes/tournaments and online play. It just gets straight to the point.

To be honest I find the concept of its simplistic objectives very appealing...it's more of an action based arena type game, but with some RPG-style elements. I never played DotA (mostly because of the annoying elitist 12 year olds who play it) but I did think it was a fun concept and the game has piqued my interest. With friends I could see this being a very fun multiplayer game. Only problem is, I believe Dawn of War 2 is very similar and I already have that.

Not only are they similar, DoW2 has a real campaign mode and Demigod doesn't. If I didn't already have DoW2 I would be much more inclined to give Demigod a try, but I do have it.
