WD My Book Hard Drive
I have just bought a new WD My Book 1tb external hard drive. There is set up software already on it. Can it be formatted and partitioned. Will I have to copy the set up files to my PC first.

Don't bother with the software on it, just format it. I believe it is initially Fat32, format to NTFS and you are good to go.
