Every once in a while my screen gets this shimmery\wobbly effect on it, and right now its been doing it for about 15 minutes. Its never done it this long before. I tried degaussing, turning it off and turning it back on, changing resolution, moving the cable around in the back... nothing gets rid of it.

It better not be dying.

EDIT: Sweet. I shook the monitor side to side a little and it went away.

**** its back... it must be dying. God dammit.

Welcome to the world of LCD CaptN. One good thing. You don't have to mess round with choosing a res to play at. ::

Well, it hasn't done the shimmery thing all day.

I'm keeping this thing until it doesn't work anymore.

Still can't believe I got a $900 monitor that weighs 80 pounds shipped to my door for $175 as a refurb. Best deal ever. Been using it for 2 1/2 years now.

It's dying. Mine does the same plus a horrible dull greenish tint picture. That reminds me, I must throw it away as it is sitting in a cupboard at home.

Except for lack of widescreen CaptN's CRT is a really nice bit of gear. I'd love a 22" CRT! Especially it it was the widescreen Sony made a few years back. Really nice monitor, but rare now. ::
