Default Can't open a program, yet have administrator rights

I've installed AMD overdrive and cannot run the program. It says I have to run as administrator. I am the administrator! My user account is set up as administrator. I don't seem to have any problems with any other program - very frustrating.

A little help would be appreciated guys...

Are you trying to run this on the machine/OS in your signature? Under Vista you sometimes have to right-click and run-as Administrator even when your user is in the local administrators group. If this doesn't work, disable UAC and try again.

Can you try logging into the machine as the actual local Administrator? You shouldn't have to do this normally for any application to run, but it will help narrow down some possibilities. Did you install it as the user that you are trying to run it with? Can you create another local user as an admin and test from that account? Sometimes your local profile can be damaged and it will cause issues like this.

You might have not gotten a response because you put it in the XP/Vista forum instead of the software forum. The only people care about in the XP/Vista forum is torrenting the newest Windows 7 release. You got buried.

I've tried all of the above w/o success. It still keeps telling me I don't have admin rights. I am the local admin.

I'll just reinstall it and see what happens. I can run all other administrative tasks w/o any issues.

Thanks for your response.
