I've seen a few threads regarding sound problems, and since I'm a noob I'm hoping my problem doesn't involve recompiling my kernel or anything that severe. I'm using SuSE 8.2 with an MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR Mobo with onboard sound, but my sound is only coming through the headphone jack, not the speaker jack. I downloaded the ALSA driver with no change. If it matters, I also wasn't able to get the onboard LAN working, I just swapped out my NIC from my old windows box. I'm not even going to start worrying about my ATI Radeon 9500 card until I can at least get my sound working. Any input will be greatly appreciated.
--the dungbeetle p.s. I had to install my OS with the ACPI=Off option, if that makes a difference. |
