Default X server doesn't start

Hi, I'm using debian lenny on kernel 2.6.26. I installed the nvidia driver and tried to start the X server but i got nothing. I didn't see any error in the Xorg*.log file. I think is a resolution problem but im not sure. Any help would be appreciate ....
