Hard drive performance.

Is this good for my hard drive? Its a hitachi 7200.b 1tb hard drive. I have 2 in my pc atm.

im running windows vista ultimate with SP1 installed.

Looks pretty typical to me.. I've never used hdtune, but I've seen similar graphs elsewhere and see the same speeds when writing to different areas of my newish 1TB drives or resyncing my raid.

These new Seagate 7200.12 drives with 500Gb platters have some pretty impressive numbers. Check out the benchmark I just ran:

The random access time is a bit lacking but the transfer rates are awesome.

Assuming that's read speed, just one of those drives should achieve those numbers. Might need to invest in hardware RAID!

Read speed yes, but you need TWO X25-M in RAID 0 for this performance, unless you buy one Intel X25-E drive
