This is getting frustrating.

7 doesn't see my 7200.11. As of right now it's the only hdd plugged in, doesn't matter which SATA port I use.

Vista and XP see it just fine, any ideas guys?

TIA

Two things you could try, ist thing is get a sata driver for a usb floppy if you have one.

If not then turn of sata in bios , and the op will see the drive as a IDE , floppy driver prefered
option. probs vista sata driver should do it.

Thanks, still no go.

Attempting an install from within Vista now. grrrrr

EDIT: that didn't work either...sigh

EDITED REEDIT: It sees my 80Gb deskstar no problem. Funny thing is, when browsing for drivers from within the install, it shows that hdd in the browser.

I say again....sigh

It gave me options almost right away, using IE8. Has it prompted you for their downloader yet?

Cool, installing drivers and apps now. Seems nice so far, just don't understand why it wouldn't see the newer drive.

Hating the new Microsoft DTV-DVD decoder... No improvements thus far compared to 7048.
